QUESTION: relationship problem   my calls (first through the corporate automated receptionist) entering boyfriend's extension answered that my landline and cell calls could not be transferred to that number. If I've used *67 each attempt, has he actually blocked me? When I *67 directly using the extension numbers as the last four of his direct corporate number, it says the number has been disconnected and is no longer in service. ? Could his block be for all *67 numbers or is he somehow able to distinguish my *67 calls to block?  I've obviously tried to think of all possibilities. So curious, desperate x

ANSWER: When you dial a number from your office and want to use *67, you would dial the outbound number first (i.e., 8 or 9 typically), then *67 then 1, then the area code and number. From your cell phone, just *67, 1 then the area code and number. If you are doing this to call your boyfriend and you get the message that the number has been disconnected, then the number is disconnected. Try calling your home number with the *67 and see if you get it to answer. If it does, then you know you are dialing correctly. If it doesn't, then you are not dialing correctly. So if it dials correctly, then your boyfriend no longer has that number that you are calling. Perhaps he moved to a different extension. Try not blocking your call and calling from a number he wouldn't recognize and see what happens. If he didn't answer the phone, then that likely means he isn't answering a blocked call, but he can't block blocked calls, i.e., you wouldn't get a message that the number was disconnected. That comes from the phone company when a number is disconnected. Hope this helps.

QUESTION: ty very much for the info and fast response! So he can't block blocked calls. Does that include not just *67 calls but caller info withheld, unknown caller...as well? I thought I read that in a corporate setting, a block can be set up against unidentified calls. The 'receiver' just cant  hear them? If this is so, does it include *67? I called another corporate number directly, like his, and it said it had been disconnected, like his. when i did try various extensions over the weekend the automated response was I cannot transfer you to that extension. So that's why I thought I had been identified even though *67'd and somehow they blocked me across the board. This is nuts but once you start, you want to know what a person knows and doesnt know. Also, can someone google my email name and see this?   TY

Not on a work phone. He can't do anything like that. When you were calling the extensions, the phone system just didn't let you transfer from extension to extension, but that has nothing to do with his extension being there or not.
