Cellular Phones/Receiving international phone calls

Question
I was wanting to know if there was any kind of fee or extra charge for receiving an international phone call on my cell phone. My carrier is at&t.  I live in the U.S and a friend of mine lives in Spain. It would be nice to be able to talk on the phone but I'm worried about there being high charges. Thanks for your help.

Answer
There is no extra charge or fee for receiving international calls. With cell phone calls, what determines charges is where YOU are located, not who is calling you. If you are in your home territory (i.e., the United States), all calls made or received by you will come out of your bucket of minutes. If you leave the country, call calls made and received (whether back to the US or just to someone standing beside you) will be charged at international rates because you are roaming (i.e., outside of your home territory). When your friend in Spain calls you, he/she will be charged for an international dialed call, but you will not. So as long as your friend doesn't mind paying the international dialed per minute charges, he/she can call you without you incurring any extra charges. Hope this helps. Thanks.
