Cellular Phones/CPS i6

Question
QUESTION: My husband and I purchased two CPS i6 from a website a week ago. We cannot get the MMS text messaging or the internet to work. We have contacted AT&T and they gave us the configurations for both, but I'm having problems entering in the proxy address. They gave me - wireless.cingular.com:80, but our phones wants number instead. They told me to contact the manufacturer, but I don't have a number to contact them. Can you help us please?

ANSWER: That's not actually the proxy address. That's a combination of two different things. The address should be 066.209.011.061 and the port is 9201. If that doesn't work, call them back and ask them for the address. Also, I think they mean wap.cingular not wireless.cingular. That goes somewhere else. If you have the whole thing that they gave you (i.e., all the steps), please send that to me and I can try to help you see where each goes. Thanks.

QUESTION: They sent the following directions to me:
Sent name - MEdia Net
Access name - wap.cingular
Auth Type - Secure
User ID - Leave blank
Password - Leave blank
Protocol - HTTP
Home URL - http://home
Proxy Address - wireless.cingular.com:80
NOTE - A colon must be entered before entering "80"
Linger Time - 300
Advanced Settings
Static IP - leave blank
Static DNS - leave blank
Traffic Class - Subscribed

ANSWER: Okay, so for the Home URL, it should say http://mmsc.cingular.com and for the Proxy Address it should be 066.209.011.061. You can try putting the colon after that and then 80,but I don't believe that will work or is necessary. Try this and let me know if it works. Thanks.

QUESTION: Thanks, but it didn't work...any other options to try.

Answer
I believe that the issue is with the port address. Try 9201 instead of 80. Otherwise, I would try calling them again and hopefully, the next person you get on the phone may know more. For someone to give you a proxy address that are words doesn't make sense, so perhaps this person didn't know what they were talking about. Hope this helps.
