Cellular Phones/Deleted t-mobile voicemail

Question
I had a couple extremely important voicemails saved on my cellphone. My provider is T-mobile. Those voicemails were evidence for a court case. I had them saved for months - I listened to them regularly and re-saved them. But today, to my horror, I found they are gone!!!
I tried phoning T-mobile in a furious state - other providers like Verizon can apparently restore deleted voicemails. But T-mobile said voicemails are deleted automatically every 30 days or so.
So they deleted my voicemails, not me!
So I'm considering sending them a legal letter. Surely there are retrieval programs they can run on their database to retrieve important lost voicemails? People lose important voicemails all the time!
This is so catastrophic I am considering suing T-mobile.

Answer
I totally understand your predicament however, if T-Mobile told you that they have been purged, they are gone and are not retrievable. What Verizon does is if you delete a voice mail, it actually stays in the system a short period of time where you can undelete it. However, they also purge after a period of time and once the system purges it (versus you deleting it), it is gone also. It's only undeletable when you delete it, not when the systems purge it. Unfortuantely, your messages are gone now. A legal letter won't help you. They have the right to purge voice mail after 30 days. You can always go in and resave a message every few days to avoid this purge, but they have a right to maintain messages for only a period of time. Trust me, you won't win if you sue T-Mobile for this and they are no differnet than any other carrier in the way that they purge after a period of time. When you save a message, it tells you that the message will be saved for 30 days so they do warn customers of this. I am so very sorry that this happened to you and I hope there is another way that you can be helped with your legal case.
