Cellular Phones/LG Accolade won't charge.

Question
My LG Accolade will not charge, not matter how long I keep it on the charger. What could be wrong with it? I was using it three days ago, basically all day long, and it died on me. Now it will not charge. Is there a way to fix this, or should I just get a new battery and call it a day?
When a phone's battery is completely discharged, you typically have to remove the battery, put it back in and then plug it into the charger. Let it charge overnight. In the morning, remove it from the charger and then turn it on. When a phone is fully discharged, just plugging it into the charger won't turn it on. You have to manually turn on the phone. So basically, what I am suggesting is that it likely is charging, you just may not realize it because it was fully discharged. Let me know. Thanks.
