Question
When should I turn the wi fi on for my sony android?

Answer
You may want to keep WiFi enabled at all times. Whenever there is available free WiFi, your phone will ask you if you want to attach to the nework or not. When you are at your home if you have WiFi, your device will attach if you set it up that way.  You don't use data kilobytes when on WiFi so it's a good want to help with data costs if you have a lower data plan, like 200MB.  If you have a 2GB plan, it doesn't really matter because it's rare to go over that amount.  Hope that helps.
