Cellular Phones/Land Line to Cell Phone Charges After Relocation

Question
You gave a great answer to a question on cell phone charges after moving (http://en.allexperts.com/q/Cellular-Phones-2768/Charges-relocating-keeping-old.h...).

One aspect still puzzles me: I have my old Bellevue 425-xxx-xxxx number and now live in Oregon.  To folks in my new community incur long distance charges when they call my 425# from a 541 land line across town from me?

Do you have a reference for your answer?

Thanks for your help!

Answer
Thanks!

Yes, people who call your 425 number from their 541 land lines WILL incur long distance charges for calling you. It doesn't matter if you are in the same room or across the globe from them. The determination of long distance charges from a landline is based on the place the person is placing the call from (541 area code) and the number they are calling (your Washington phone number). Since cell phones don't have long distance charges anymore, anyone calling you from any cell phone doesn't incur long distance charges, but landlines still do. Anyone who calls you from a landline will incur long distance charges. Hope this helps.
