Cellular Phones/outgoing landline calls coming up unknown on receiving cell phones

Question
About 3 weeks ago, our calls from home on land line started showing up unknown on the receiving cell phone...usually our kids who now don't answer our calls from home! Quest says nothing is blocked and I've had no success in researching Panasonic so don't know what I've done or what next step should be. Any suggestions? I think I must have done something...somehow.. but haven't a clue. Thanks for any help. Nancy

Answer
Unknown doesn't mean that the call is blocked. That would show up as Private or Blocked. Unknown means that the central office where your call is originally switched to make the outgoing call is no longer passing caller ID. If Qwest is your carrier, then it's Qwest's central office that your calls go through that isn't passing the Caller ID. It's not your phone or anything at all to do with you. You don't control this type of thing Qwest does. Call them back and tell them that the Caller ID for your outgoing calls is showing up on your friend's landlines as Unknown and you would like to have them check into why Caller ID is no longer being passed from your line. You can prove this to them by asking them to check their caller ID when you call them and they will see that it will show up as Unknown. Just know that it's not your phone or you, it's without question Qwest. They may have recently upgraded something in their system where the Caller ID info was temporarily lost. Before you call them, I would suggest that you call a neighbor on their land line and have them tell you for certain that the call shows as Unknown and if it does, then call Qwest. Hope this helps.
