Question
QUESTION: I purchased an unlocked/unbranded motorola slvr L9 from cellular outfitters.com I have not been able to receive or send multimedia messages ever since I have had the phone. My cellphone carrier is AT&T. Please help me enable my multimedia msg/WAP settings for this phone. Thanks

ANSWER: You have to program all unlocked phones in order for the MMS and WAP to work. Contact AT&T and ask them for the settings and they will assist you in the programming. I hope this helps. Thanks.

QUESTION: Thanks for your reply but I have contacted AT&T they said that they can no longer get the programming for the phone. I also notified Motorola and they wanted me to contact AT&T everybody keeps passing the buck. Do you have any other suggestions? Do you have any of the settings? Thanks again

Answer
The settings for this phone are basically the same as any other Motorola phone. It's kind of silly that AT&T wouldn't give the settings to you.

These are settings for a PDA, but in general, they are the same for all devices:

Setting up the data account

On the PDA, tap on Start and then Settings.
Tap on the Connections tab.
Tap on the Connections icon.
Tap on the Advanced tab.
Tap on Select Networks.
Tap on New…
In the Enter a name for these settings: field, enter Media Net MMS
Tap on the Modem tab.
Tap on New.
In the Enter a name for the connection: field, enter Media Net MMS
Tap on the Select a modem: drop down list and select Cellular Line (GPRS, 3G).
Tap on Next.
In the Access point name: field, enter wap.cingular and tap on Next.
In the Username: WAP@CINGULARGRPS.COM
In the Password CINGULAR1
Tap on Finish.
Tap on ok three times.
Tap on x to close the settings.
Setting up the MMS account

On the PDA, tap on Start and then Messaging.
Tap on Menu and select Tools then tap Options...
Tap on MMS.
Tap on the Servers tab
Tap on New.
In the Server name: field, enter Media Net MMS
In the Gateway: field, enter 66.209.11.32
In the Port number: field, enter 9201
In the Server address: field, enter http://mmsc.cingular.com
Tap on the Connect via: drop down list and select Media Net MMS
Tap on the WAP Version: drop down list and select WAP 2.0.
Tap on Ok.
Tap on Media Net MMS and tap on Set As Default.
Tap on ok twice.
Tap on x to close.
The settings have been applied and are ready for use
