Cellular Phones/LG KC910 Problems

Question
Actually, this isn't a question but a solution to a problem you addressed previously.  There appear to be a lot of people who bought this phone and can't use it (or so they think) with AT&T.  I found a lot of people who have sold theirs because of it.

Anyway, it appears that this phone won't work with AT&T or it only works for emergency calls or the coverage is very limited.  Here's how I solved it:

Enable the cell phone and dial:  3845#*910#
This will put you in test mode.

(I had to do this several times because sometimes the phone would try to make the call)

Scroll down to:  Network Mode and select

Scroll down to:  GSM850 and select

That's it.
Can't begin to tell you how many hours it took figure this out.

Answer
Thank you, Pat. I appreciate the answer that you provided. For anyone who needs help with this phone, Pat has very kindly given you the answer. The reason that this works is because AT&T uses the 850 GSM band in the US in some locations. Here is a caution, however, AT&T not only uses the GSM 850 band, but also uses the 1900 band for GSM and now also uses the HSDPA and beginning to use LTE. If people still have trouble, it's because in the area they are in, they would need 1900 frequency as well as 850. Hope this helps.
