Cellular Phones/Sprint/Virgin

Question
I just bought a blackberry curve 8530 sprint phone on ebay, thinking it could be used on virgin. since they are both  cdma it seems to me that all they need is the device esn, to do the deed.
virgin people say no,  i am stuck with sprint.  if the esn is in sprints data base, it should be in virgin's as their prepaid division. any way around this, or am i stuck????
DAN

Answer
Virgin is correct, I'm afraid. Each carrier can only use their own devices and have in their databases only their ESN's. I strongly recommend that you return the phone if at all possible or try to resell it. I would also recommend that you simply get a phone direclty from Virgin if you want to use their service. That is honestly your best bet.
