Cellular Phones/AT&T HTC Tilt 2

Question
I have an AT&T HTC Tilt 2, it has been a piece of C**P since I got it as a replacement for my original phone refurbished by AT&T while under warranty.  It seems to me that this phone is severely underpowered for the operating system (Windows 6.5) and all of the AT&T junk applications they chose to install.  I'd like to know if there is an open source available to reload operating system Windows 6.5 without all the AT&T garbage?  I am relatively confident that without the junk this phone may actually work.  I am looking for a way to format the phone and just put on the applications I need.  Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Norman

Answer
You don't want to reload anything on this device and the slowness and other issues isn't related to what AT&T installed on the device, it's related to the device itself. The Tilt 2 is not an efficient device and you are totally correct that it's underpowered. Unfortunately, if you did actually reload it, it would basically stop working properly and your problem would become worse. This isn't an issue with AT&T, it's an issue with the Tilt 2. The best thing to do is hopefully you will be eligible for an upgrade soon. When you are, I would strongly recommend purchasing a SmartPhone that does not use the Windows operating system. Unfortunately, Windows Mobile is the slowest, worst OS for a SmartPhone there is. They still haven't gotten mobile right yet, though I'm sure that eventually they will. The number 1 most efficient OS is RIM (BlackBerry), but if you want all the bells and whistles and fun stuff, then either go with Apple (iPhone) or Android. Both of these OS's work well via mobile. Windows just doesn't cut it, I'm afraid. I hope this helps.
