Cellular Phones/HTC desire HD

Question
Hi. I have been using a Samsung Galaxy Mini but now I have got an HTC Desire HD but it's second-hand. Now, the problem is with market and gmail. I used my gmail account for using market and gmail on the samsung galaxy mini but how do I use that account for the HTC desire HD? I can't log in to the market and gmail on the HTC because obviously i don't know the password of the previous owner. I added my own account by going to "settings>accounts and sync>" but I can't use that account for market and gmail. Also I can't delete the previous owner's account, the phone doesn't let me. What should I do?

Answer
You will need to clear the settings on the phone in order to log onto Market and GMail. You have to take the phone completely back to the factory settings in order to do this so that the phone thinks it is being set up for the first time. Since these settings can only be done the first time you set up the phone, this is the only way to do this. I hope this helps.
