Cellular Phones/I cannot text Verizon users

Question
I have a Metro PCS phone and all works well with it, however there is a problem I have been unable to figure out. I can receive, but cannot SEND text messages to Verizon wireless users. I am able to call these people as well, but whenever I attempt to send a text message, it never goes through. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

Answer
I am assuming that you used to have Verizon service before you switched to Metro PCS? Is that correct? If not, then perhaps the phone number you have belonged to someone with Verizon previously? You may not know the answer to that second question. What I suggest you do to run some tests to determine the actual issue is as follows:

1. Find one of your friends that you have in your contact list who has Verizon service and delete their contact information entirely. Make sure you delete texts from them also.

2. Contact that person in person or via someone else's phone or via your landline and ask them to call your cell phone.

3. When they call you, answer the call and then be sure to take the entry of their call and add it to contacts. Don't do it manually, use the option to add the contact information.

4. Then, after the new entry is in your contacts, try sending them a text from your contact list.

This should work. If it doesn't work, then the issue is with MetroPCS and Verizon and the listing of your number belonging to MetroPCS hasn't cleared through yet. This typically will happen within a few days if you just recently got your phone number or recently transferred from one carrier to another. I hope this helps.
