Question
What were the main foods eaten by the Aztecs at the time of Montezuma - particularly at his feasts?

Answer
Hi J. Southhall,
Although my category is the 19th century History of Mexico, I can still answer your question. The main staple of the Aztecs was maize (corn), which they made into lots of different recipies including tortillas, tamales, and maize cakes which they used during festivals. Other suppliments to their diet were lots of fruits, honey, vanilla, nopales (cactus), frijoles (beans), chiles, chocolate, and thier favorite drink was pulque, which is a naturally fermented, thick, liquid from the maguey plant. Delicacies included fish, both fresh and salt water, turkey, and quail. I hope this helps in answering your question. Thanks for using AllExperts.com,
