Ceramics/bisque repair

Question
I have a joined condiment pot that came unjoined in bisque firing.  The lids to the two pots are joined by a connecting handle, so I need to rejoin the pots.  Aside from using a commercial mender, what would happen if I used Elmer's glue, then put on the glaze and fired it?  Would the glue hold it long enough for the glaze to seal it?  Or should I use a commercial product like Mend Magic?

Answer
Karen,
I'm not sure what temperature Elmer's glue will melt at, but I'll bet it's fairly low. I'd highly recommend a commercial product like Mend Magic. I've used it with some good success. I've also mixed up 1 part vinegar, 1 part Kayo syrup, 1 part liquid clay for a thick paste for repairs for greenware. I once used it to repair a small piece with  glaze over it & it worked. Best of luck to you.
