Question
Hi, Leisha,
My mural(s) are at the studio in the  queue waiting for bisque firing.
Since there are so many different textures and differences in depth, what kind of basic advice for glazing would you suggest. One piece I am going to load up with Iron Oxide and then maybe do just a clear matt glaze, but I would like to add some color to some of the others. Would 4 colors be too busy, would patterns be better? Any suggestions.

Answer
Steve,
You can basically do anything you wish, "You are the artist!" That is what I tell my students. The key is knowing how to achieve what you'd like.
Textures lend themselves very well to Iron Oxide. Translucent glazes work well too because they flow down into the crevasses & lighten up on the top surface. Some, however flow too well & drip, so use a wax to keep them in place.
As far as busy & patterns, again...you get to be the artist. Have fun.
