Ceramics/Ceramic molds

Question
My grandmother used to own a ceramic shop, and has over three thousand molds left.  I just wanted to know who I might could talk to about getting rid of them.  We are giving them away for free if there is someone that can use them.

Answer
Heather,

You're doing the right thing by giving them to others who will use them. Generally, to dump them will cost you by the pound. If you've lifted just one, you're aware of the weight.

Where are you located? You can place a listing free on Craigslist.com, call your local ceramic supplier. Most have a bulletin board and will allow you to place a notice up. Groups or individuals who work with children sometimes appreciate them and it can be a donation. Try the local Y or anyone who has a ceramics program. There are ceramicists who are using molded pieces in conjunction with their throwing or hand-building. Is there an artist's guild in town?

Best of luck, Leisha
