Question
I purchased a glazed pot because of the shape and color, but am wondering if there is a method to make it's appearance more matte, i.e. less glossy.  Could I use vinegar or some other acidic solution?  Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Answer
Susan,

Once glaze is fired it is like glass, it actually is a glass coating. One simple method to give a matte appearance after firing may be to use a glass etching creme. You should be able to locate one at any local craft store or online. Follow the directions carefully and be sure to use rubber gloves. You may want to test out a small area, maybe on the bottom of the pot to ensure it will work before you treat the entire piece. Let me know how this turns out. :) Leisha
