Question

Vase
...the bottom veiw of the Vase I previously asked about

Answer
Eugene,

It's definitely German. The W is similar to Wallendorf, a porcelain factory established by hammann in 1762, but their marks were usually painted in blue.
Here's one site that may be fun for you to browse through to try to find your mark.

You might also try doing a google search on GDR.

Let me know what you discover. :)

CommentThank you very much Leisha, I found that this Vase was made in the 1960's (1963 or so to be a bit more percise)..and you were absolutely right about who made it. Now I just want to find out how and where she got it from and if there were any other pieces that came with. P.S. ..the inscription that reads "handgemali" is particularly interesting. The word "hand" is self explanatory, but then "gemali" can be read in Russian which I did and it literally says "detali" (translated letter for letter). So it actually reads "handdetali" for hand-detailed. ...go figure Thanx again Sincerely Gene
