Question
Hi I need to glaze some tiles that will decorate the top of a coffee table and was wondering what the process consisted of. They are biscuit tiles.Do they need an under glaze then need to be fired and then a glaze for the top. Would I use a gloss glaze? Have no idea what to do and am wondering if you could help. Much appreciated.

Answer
Emily,
Whether you choose gloss or matte glaze or underglaze is just a preference of how you'd like it to look when you're done. What's more important is to clean off the sides & back of the tiles before firing. You want the grout used around the tiles & the adhesive to be able to adhere well to the raw tile, so you don't want to glaze anything but the top of the tile. Leisha
