Question
I don't know what the technique is called, but it's when you paint a bisque teddy bear and you want to highlight the grooves.  Some say use translucent, some say just use acrylic paint and wipe off, and yet others say to dry brush.  I'm so confused.  What is the technique called and how do I learn how to do it?  Is there any books for beginners painting ceramic that I can get?  Please help me?

If this is the look you're going for, this one was achieved with translucent stains. Duncan has a great site with step by step instructions.

If this is not the look, try plugging in some different searches, like dry brushing.
