QUESTION: Is there any value to this item?  I am unemployed and
trying to keep my house.  Beth

ANSWER: Beth,
Absolutely! Eugene Deutsch signed both Deutch and Deutsch due to anti-semitism. He taught for years at the Art Institute of Chicago. He was a very important American artist. I'm not sure how to value this piece without seeing it, but I have seen his students' work going for over $200. It is worth taking to an appraiser. I pray you get to keep your house!

QUESTION: How can I find a reputable appraiser?  What is a fair price
to pay?  I live in Roswell GA, which actually has a bunch
of antique stores... TIA Beth

Answer
Beth,
I would call the appraisers & talk to them by phone first. You can also search the library or local bookstore for a pricing book. There are books, just like blue books for cars that give the value of pottery/antiques. Find out who is the busiest store in town, been there the longest & has the best reputation. Let me know if I can help further. Leisha
