Question
Hi. I just recently started up a hobby ceramic group in my home. I have a kiln, some molds and small amount of other supplies. I'd like to get some glazes and was wondering if you could recommend a wholesale supplier?  The retail prices on most websites are expensive. What is the best way to buy glazes ?  Thanks

Answer
Audrey,

Congratulations on stating a new hobby of ceramics! Glazes are generally sold through distributors. A supplier will usually refer you to a distributor they have contracted with to carry their entire line of products. One way to get a break is to obtain your own sales license through your state, that does save on taxes. Also, some suppliers do offer a break if they know you're teaching or supplying a group. The only other way to get a break is to buy dry glazes or mix your own. Underglazes can be less expensive too. Hope this helps, Leisha
