Ceramics/Firing Glazes/Procedure

Question
I have a Evenheat electric kiln. I use multi-purpose
red/brown stoneware clay, bisque fired at cone 04. The
bique firing turned out great. Now when I glaze and fire
at cone 06, do I leave peep holes open, is there a procedure
for this like the bisque firing? I am using Low fire
Spectrum glazes. Also, my kiln is manual switches. I can
not find any answers on glaze firing. I bought opaque snow
white gloss glaze.

Answer
Hi Kay, leave one(top) peep hole open until 200degC then close up, this is only a precautionary measure to expel any moisture that may be present. Many potters have their kilns closed up from the start of the glaze firing. my preference is close up at 200degC.
