Question
QUESTION: I purshased a vase at an antique shop many tears ago, perhaps as long as 35 years; and, I've always wondered who the artist is/was and whether or not it is an important or exceptionally good piece in the eyes of "those who know?!"
The vase is dark yellow-gold, 8"H x 6 3/4"Dia., Mouth is 4 3/16" Dia. witht he base being 3 7/8" Dia.  The textured portion of the surface is made up of thousands of tiny (1-2.5mm) rectangular shaped pieces of ceramic imbedded into/on the surface of the vase.  The only marking is on the bottom and appears to be a cross or an "X" in a circle. The picture showing the bottom also best depicts the true color(s) of the vase, the others I have being somewhat washed out.  Would appreciate any comments you might have?  Thank you...

Dick G.

PS: I have six other photos, including the bottom, which  I could send if that might help?

ANSWER: Dick,
Yes, please send the other photos. It's a lovely piece. I'll try to help or point you to some folks who may be able to. Leisha

QUESTION: Thanks, Leisha!  This site only allows me to attach one pic file; so, if you have an e-mail address that I can send more than one to, I'd be pleased to do so?  Regards,

Dick G.

Answer
Dick,
Sigh...I'm stumped. I know I have seen this mark before. I've looked & looked. Here's some sites you might try, maybe I missed something. Good luck. Leisha Of course there are lots of great books out there also.
