Ceramics - In what country was this planter made?

Expert: Leisha Hiester - 2/5/2009

Question
This planter has been in my home for several years now, I put bracelets in it. I noticed it has an "eagle" incised on the base. It measures 8" long X  5 3/4" wide, any idea where it could have been made?

I have searched the library and internet, I came up with nothing.

Answer
Sharon,
I've researched also. Alot of German potteries carried an eagle mark, but this one I couldn't find. Here's a site;

Sorry, I'm really a ceramics/potter, not an expert on marks, but have done my fair share of collecting.

Amerian potters also used an eagle. Here's an excellent book;

Sorry I could not be of more help. Leisha
