Ceramics/Fixing exposed pottery

Question
I have an Italian pottery bowl that I use periodically to serve homemade salsa or
other fresh dips.  It has developed multiple small areas where the original glaze
has worn off and the pottery is exposed.  Is there a way to fix these without
glazing?  I cannot replace the bowl and would prefer not to have to refire it for
fear of cracking.  Thanks!

Answer
Hi Chrislyn, glaze should not wear off, glaze in reality is "glass". There is no way to bring your bowl back to where it was, keep using it or put it away, you have no other choice if you do not want to re-glaze and re-fire, probably would not work anyway as you don't know the fire temp or maturation temp. of the clay.
