Question
Hello,
I have been given a garage full of ceramic molds.  My question is how do you find out who made the mold and what the numbers stand for.  I live in Alberta Canada.  For example this is what is written on the mold: S2537 Cherub Head and Wings.  Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you!
Carol

Answer
Carol,
You probably have a variety of molds made by different makers. The problem is that many mold companies have either merged with another company to survive or completely gone out of business.

Often if you search a number & description on line you can identify a maker. Otherwise, if you're really wanting to identify each & every mold you may want to consult someone.

Petro Mold Company makes custom molds and they are very knowledgable regarding all of the mergers, etc.
