Question

What it looks like.
i work in a paint your own pottery studio, we use bisque and Gare fun strokes undercoat, and then the glaze, lead free super clear dipping glaze transparent cone 6, hobbycolorobbia. We keep finding pots in the kiln where the under glaze and dipping glaze have crept back revealing bare bisque. do you know why this happens?

Answer
Hi Doodlepots, What it looks like is the pot prior to glazing, is for another word 'dirty'. Make sure the bisqued pot is handled as little as possible before glazing. I had a similar problem and I am now washing the bisque pot under water pressure from a hose and drying out in the kiln before applying the glaze.

Also sieve your glaze through 200 mesh gauze everytime you use it, there may be minute pieces of contamination in the glaze its self, a common problem when multiple people are dipping into a common glaze source.
