Question
Does a porcelaine plaque which is not hand-painted and not signed has any real value? Why people bid for such iitems in auctions? Thank you

Answer
Natalia,
You didn't provide enough information and a photo always helps, but I'm assuming you have a piece you'd like to put up for auction?

Porcelain is the cadillac of all clays. It is fine and difficult to work with. Any porcelain has value. Ever heard of, 'One man's junk is another man's treasure.' That is why garage sales (especially in the U.S.) are so popular, especially now since the economy is down. Everything has value, it is just, how much and who is willing to pay for it. I'm  not sure what you mean by 'real value.'

I work in porcelain and collect porcelain. If I found a piece I loved, I would know how to finish it. I might want to custom finish it for myself.

These are just ideas. Hope it helps.
