Question
Can africana antiquing media AT-7 be thinned down?  My jar is quit old, and appears to be going on to heavy.  When I wipe it down it still leaves to much on my piece.  I have gone back over it with Duncan Bisq-stain AS 951 antiquing solvent, and then it left like polka dots in places.  Can I paint over that?  I appreciate whatever help you can give me.  Thanks

Answer
Barbara,
I'm not familiar with Africana. I believe it is a product that has been discontinued or is no longer produced. Have you tried using a plain solvent? I mean just paint thinner? Perhaps the Duncan solvent is only compatible with Duncan products. Hope this helps. Leisha
