Ceramics/bisque?

Question
I am trying to develop a structure to make use of the porosity of clay material.  I need to maximize the ratio of the exposed surface area to the volume of the structure.  The structure will need a chamber inside besides the outside surfaces.  It appears to me that the thinnest possible material could be obtained by slip casting.  I have thought of strengthening the structure by mixing long length fiberglass. Can you tell me how to get started and also if you might suggest a book that would give me preliminary instructions on making the casting.  I intend to make the model for the creation of the plaster molds with wood.  Is this ok?

thanks

Answer
Dear Moises,
Are you creating art or a structure for some type of use? That will make a difference in how you proceed.
