Question
dear helper, I have purchased 20 ceramic moulds from an auction. I want to use plaster in them. But after trying one mould its stuck. 1. I guess your dont use plaster in ceramic moulds. 2. Is there anything you should line the mould with before pouring liquid into mould and what is it. 3.what is best used for a novice like me? Thank you Corinne. PS is there anything I can do to get plaster out of my mould without destroying it?

Answer
Dear Corrine,

1. You're right. You need some clay slip to pour in your molds.
2. It isn't necessary to line the mold with anything if your mold is in good shape. The 1st pouring will clean the mold somewhat by pulling out any dust, particles, etc. You may need to discard the 1st pouring.
3. Check online and with your clay supplier for basic pouring instructions.

I'm afraid you may have ruined your mold with plaster in it, sorry.
