Ceramics/kiln firing

Question
My Skutt kiln makes a clicking on/off sound every 15 seconds or so while firing. Is this normal? What is the source of this clicking?

Answer
Hi Mary. it will be the regulator sending and cutting off power to the elements. Sometimes this is quite loud on some models. If it is a new development it can mean the contactors are getting dirty and will require service by an electrian. I would have it looked at anyway.
