Ceramics/Dry brushing lusters or luster-ettes

Question
I was giving a bunch of different lusters or luster-ettes made by velva-glo.  I have looked all over on how to apply it wet.  I just saw some brushes that came with all of the things this lady gave me, and they said dry on them.  I am trying to figure out how to apply these lusters or luster-ettes on to pottery.  I have tried water, sugar water, and something else my teacher gave me.  So far none of them have worked.  I have also tried lavender oil so far it is in the kiln and I have no idea if it has worked or not.  But after finding these brushes i thought that maybe they should be applied dry and my teacher and I are at a loss.  If you could please help me or point me in some direction that would be wonderful.  Thank you
Beckee

Answer
Hi Beckee Cacciato. Lustres for pottery are in liquid format, or all the ones I have seen are.

What you have may be a pigment powder to add and obtain colour. The other possibility is luster-ettes are used in colouring glass. Have a read here http://www.warmglass.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=23650&start=0&st=0&sk=t&sd=a
