Ceramics/mystery vase

Question

vase
Picked up this oddly shaped 3" tall piece at an estate sale. Most of the other pottery there was Roseville, but this has a barely discernible "USA" on the bottom and nothing else.  I tried a photo ID program to help identify it by its shape, and was told it is a fish, likely a flounder.  I disagree, and again seek your expert advice, please.

Sincerely,
Dan W.

Answer
Dear Dan,
Looks like it could be a Roseville. Some earlier pieces only had USA as a mark. Here are some experts who could help;

Hope this is helpful.
