Ceramics/re-firing china

Question
Hi!
I recently have inherited a set of china (56 pieces in all) that were hand-painted by my Grandmother in 1957.
I am told that the china has not had its final firing after she finished painting, so the painted area is matte, while the rest of each piece is shiny.
Although they were aware of this fact, my relatives used some of the pieces after my Grandmother's death, and "carefully hand-washed and dried" them. This resulted in the used pieces fading somewhat. They are still beasutiful, however. I would love to be able to use these dishes and someday, to pass them on to my daughter.
I do not know where to go to get the set "finished" or even if, at this late date, it would be possible.
If you have any information that could help me, please contact me at the above e-mail address. Thank you.
AnswerDear Karen,
How wonderful that you have these beautiful pieces from your Grandmother.
The type of ceramicist you need is a china painter. Depending upon where you live, there may be one near you. Here's a listing that may be of help to you;
