Question
Dear Debra

Back in the 70's I use to go to classes and paint ceramic figures and dishes.  I have not seen and classes like that or even supplies.  Do people still do this?  I live in Johannesburg, Michigan near Gaylord and the Big Mac Bridge.  But I do go to my daughters in Detroit every couple of months.  Would I be able to still buy supplies as I just retired and would like to take up a hobbies again.  I am considering a kiln as I had one years ago.  Is this necessary or is there someplace to have things fired?  My grandmother was a china painting teacher and I used to go to conventions with her, but I do not see anything called the C.P.T.A online?  Do they still exist?

Answer
Yes, they still exist. Not very many, thou. I buy a lot on line. Google ceramics. I buy bisque and paint with acrylics now that I closed the shop. Check senior centers, some  have ceramics class. I teach it one in Florida and we have a kiln and it is a lot of fun. Good luck!
