Question

Hi Leisha,

Please help me identify this Bird. The Raymor sticker has been torn and I can't make out the part number or makers initials. It had another label that read made in Italy 502 that I steamed off intact. I can replace it. There are a few marks on the tail but can't make out. It looks to be an Guido Gambone or Botissi. Please help.

Regards,

Steve V.

Answer
Dear Steve,
Raymor, in the 1950's produced some of their own ceramics using well known designers. They're a distributor of post modern items from approximately 1940-1980's. Guido Gambone & Botissi did do figurines like this in the 1950's. Botissi did a lot of birds, however they were sleeker in design and glazed in much more brilliant glaze colors. Unless it is an early work by one of them, I'm not sure who to attribute it to. I would recommend you contact this company, they tend to get a lot of both Gambone & Botissi items. I'm sorry I could not be more difinitive. I hope this helps. I'd love it if you write me back if you find a difinitive I.D. Sincerely, Leisha
