Question
My daughter has disided she wants to join a cheerleading team. She wants to know if there are divisions and what would be the name of the one she would be in. She is in 6th grade. ???

Hi Meg,

  Yes, there are plenty of teams that she could be on. There are many divisions and which she would be in would be based on her ability and the place where she is going to cheer. If she was on a school team it would be jv or varsity. If she went to an all-star team it would be likely a junior or senior team. Different teams will put different limits on their teams depending on what they have. The best thing to do is to check out places near you, and see where they would put her if she joined them. Experience

My Experience in the area: I cheered on my grade school team for 4 years. I danced for on pointe for 14 years. I have coached for 9 years for grade school basketball cheerleading, grade school competitive squads, and all-star. I now own my own national championship all-star team.

Education/Credentials
I am safety certified by the AACCA. I have a BA in Elementary Education and am a certified teacher. I also have my masters in library science with an emphasis on teens.
