Question
If I were to want to coach cheerleading, would I need a degree in anything? What all do I need to have to be able to get started in coaching? Also, could I start my own little squad? I just need help getting started!

Answer
Hi Ashton,
You wouldn't necessarily need a degree in anything, but having experience in the areas of nutrition, physical sciences, sports psychology, etc. would be very helpful. Also, you should look into training through the USASF for coaches.
You can absolutely start your own squad. The best way to start on that is to put out feelers and see if there is an interest in the area and then grab the kids, rent a space and go to it! If you want more specifics, see my previous answers on the subject. Good luck to you. Please let me know how it goes!
Happy Cheering!
