Question
QUESTION: I want to be a flyer but I have never cheerleaded in my life. Tryouts are in 8 or 9 months and I want to get a head start. Also I'm a liitle bit flexible. What workouts will I need to be a flyer? If you need to know, I'm 5' 2" and I weight 107lbs.

Well you're definitely going to want to practice the jumps, toe touches and pikes, things like that. Also practice heel stretches. As far as flying there really isn't a "work out". You have to not be scared obviously, hold completely tight so your bases have an easy target to hold. Nothing really substitutes for actually stunting so if you could go to a gym and practice around with some friends or girls there that would help the best.

I can answer questions on the following subjects. Coed partner stunts at almost any level, group pyramids, all levels of male motions and beginning levels of female motions. I can also give out general tips for tryouts. I cannot answer questions on tumbling or choreography.

I have worked at multiple all-star gyms teaching stunt clinics and classes and have cheered on a collegeiate squad for the past 3 years.

Education/Credentials
I cheered for 3 years at the collegiate level at a major D1 University and was male captain my final year.
