Cheerleading/Cheerleading Coaches
Expert: Jasmine J. (Ask Me!) - 10/28/2008
QuestionDear Jasmine,
I don't want to give out to much information about myself but enough to have my answer answered clearly. I go to 5-8 school on Cape Cod, MA. We have a pretty bad cheerleading squad at this point. Well, its not that its bad its just that we've only covered the basics. The squad cheers for basketball and it starts pretty soon. One thing is that every one makes the squad. That is probably one of the main reasons are squad is not "the best". We could use a lot more help. But before I talk more about that I have another question. There is currently one captain that is written in stone and I think I have a pretty fair chance of becoming one of the other captains. I really want to show that I'm very committed to this squad. The tryouts are next week if not earlier and I want to show that I'm ready to take the responsibility as captain. I'm very inflexible and want to know how I can learn to do a split as fast as possible I would like to know the best exercises to stretch out your hamstrings and make that split at least close to full. I also want to know some cheerleading stunts that are easy but look really cool. If you can please show some pictures of them. Now back on to my first question. I was wondering where we could find a coach that could help us with stunts and split and new cheers and the crispness of our cheers. WE NEED A LOT OF WORK!So please get back to me as soon as you can. Thank You!
Sincerely,
Sabina
P.S. I go to a catholic school and all the cheerleaders have pretty good manner and don't get in fights or anything so if that helps and you have a recommendation as a coach thank you!
AnswerI can't help you find a coach. But there is this AWESOME site to help you learn the splits-all three of them in 3 weeks. It works and it taught me. Maybe you and your whole team could do it together. This is the link:

This is some advice. Stick to it and never give it up. I swear it works if you follow it correctly. And I was verrrrrrrrrrry unflexible.
