Question
Hello, my name is Christina. And I am a freshman in high school. I wanted to know how I can get a cheerleading scholarship. I want to go to University of Florida and from what I've heard it's very hard to get into. So I wanted to try to get a scholarship. I know that I have to start now. What are the requirements and how do I get one? I want to cheer for college and maybe professional football. Do I need certain grades? A certain GPA? Please, I need any help on this matter. Thank you.
Hi Christina,
To get a cheerleading scholarship, you usually have to have pretty good grades. It won't matter how good you are at cheerleading, if you have bad grades you won't get admitted to a school and therefore won't be able to cheer for them. For University of Florida I'm not sure what grades or GPA you will need, but you'll need good ones. I'd do more research on it but I don't have much time. You can look it up yourself though at www.ufl.edu and maybe talk to a counselor about what grades you'll need. I hope this helps and good luck!

I started in gymnastics when I was two, and I have been a cheerleader on level 5 teams for 10 years. I am a flyer, but I have also based before and I understand the mechanics of stunting and tumbling. I am a strong believer in good technique. I have coached a few teams.
