Question
HELLO KIMMI
I AM NOT SURE IF I SHOULD TRY OUT FOR MY VARSITY CHEERLEADING TEAM I HAVE MANY REASON WHY I SHOULD AND WHY I SHOULDNT.HERE ARE THE PROS AND CONS TO MY SITUATION:

PROS:
-I'M VERY DETERMINED AT EVERYTHING I DO.
-I'M VERY FLEXIBLE AND I AM GETTING MORE FLEXIBLE BECAUSE I STRETCH FOR ABOUT 20 MINUTES EVERYDAY.
-I'M VERY COORDINATED BECAUSE I USE TO PLAY VOLLEYBALL
-I HAVE RHYTHM. I CAN CATCH ON TO A DANCE ROUTINE EASILY.
-I CAN JUMP VERY WELL BECAUSE OF VOLLEYBALL ALSO
-I'M VERY ENERGETIC AND BUBBLY
-I RUN EVERYDAY SO I'M IN SHAPE
-I HAVE ABOUT 10 OR 11 MONTHS TO PREPARE FOR TRY-OUTS
-I HAVE ALWAYS WANTED TO CHEER
OK AND HERE ARE THE CONS:

-THE LAST TIME I HAVE DONE ANY TYPE OF GYMNASTIC I WAS IN THE 4TH GRADE. I'M IN THE 9TH NOW!
-THE GIRLS THAT I WILL BE TRYING OUT AGAINST HAVE BEEN CHEERING FOR MANY MANY YEARS
-I TRYED OUT FOR CHEERLEADING IN THE THC AND 5TH GRADE BUT DIDN'T MADE IT SO I SCARED MY PARENTS WILL THINK I'M JUST A JOKE.

WELL THATS IT. LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK. I HAVE MORE THINGS TO SAY BUT I HAVE TO GO. FEEL FREE TO E-MAIL OR WHATEVER SO WE CAN COMMUNICATE QUICKER.

THANKS A BUNCH : )

Answer
Hi Valerie,

I think you should definitely try out for the team. There is never a reason not to try.
All of your pros sound great and your cons aren't that bad. Having skills are good, but sometimes determination, committedness, and willingness to work hard are even better. Coaches love to see hard workers. So, if you show the coach that you are going to be 100% committed, she may give you the chance.
As to your family, I very much hope they don't your a joke. They're your family, and I'm sure they love you and will support whatever you want to do.
There are many times that all of us fail in life, but you'll never know what would've happened if you don't take the chance. Good Luck! Please let me know how it goes!

Happy Cheering!
