Question
my name is cynnara.  I have a 9 year old daughter who is her 5th year of competitive cheer.  She recently took a pretty bad fall & we ended up at the er.  Thankfully she was not injured.  Ever since the fall, she has gradually fallen into a mind block.  It is very hard as her mother to watch her want to tumble so much but she can't.  what can I do, as a parent, to help her through this?

Answer
Hi Cynnara,

Mental blocks are so so tough. If you've read my past answers on this subject, you'll see that it's a common problem for athletes of all ages. As a Mom, all you can really do is be supportive of her. Don't try to force her to do the tricks - she has to get herself over the mental block. Just be supportive and she'll get through it! Good luck.

Happy Cheering!
