Question
i have a couple of questions to ask:
1.i really want to be a flier next year but i am 5.1 and 87 pound am i too tall to fly?
2.i really want to do the splits and the heel stretch and scorpian can you give some imformation on how to them and stretches?
3. how can i improve on my toe touch?

Answer
Well that would depend upon your level. I'm assuming this isnt for college (5'1 and 87lbs you'd have colleges drooling over you to be a flyer..lol). Toe touch honestly being a guy i'm not that qualified to answer. As far as your splits and heel stretch I have a perfect example. It really all is just practice and getting your body to be more flexible. One year in college my partner was by far the best flyer we had. She held her weight in the air (she was about 5'2 and 110lbs) as good as anyone I've ever stunted with. But her heel stretches were really really bad. So everytime we'd go to stunt she'd just start pulling heel stretches on the ground, and doing them at home in front of her mirror. She started this at the beginning of the fall semester. By spring her heel stretch was as good as anyone's. Now obviouisly at first be careful, no matter how bad you think it might look in the mirror don't strain yourself and get injured. Just keep track of what you're able to do and stretch every day and mark your progress. I guess the best general rule of thumb would be whatever squad you're interested in trying out for as a flyer, just straight up ask the coach if there are any height requirements. Ive never met a coach who isnt more than happy to answer questions and give advice for someone who wants to tryout for them.
