Cheerleading/toss hands/partner stunting

I'm new to cheer this year. I have some history of dance and circus, but I have joined an adult cheer team. I'm having trouble getting the power in my arms for toss hands... when I get tossed I don't seem to get the strength, or timing, or maybe both, to be able to push myself off and flick off of my bases's wrists. Can you give me any advice on how to strengthen and get power, and perhaps any technique tips?

AnswerIf you havent heard this already you'll probably get a giggle out of it but one of the basic techniques on tossing is making sure you flick straight down off your partners arms. Alot of beginning females will push down and out. Picture yourself (this is the funny part but it really works) using your thumbs to push straight down and push your pants down real quick. By flicking straight down it doesn't necessarily get more power for you. BUt pushing down and out pushes your partners arms out and he doesn't get as much power. Also ask the guy you're stunting with if you're flicking at the very top. It's definitely noticeable for the guy if the guy is flicking early and if you time it at the top its obviously best. If you just need to get stronger in your biceps do some light curls and light weight routine, you dont wanna put on muscle weight but you definitely want to be strong and compact.
