Question
I am starting a competitive cheerleading team.  We are
already in the process of getting the liability insurance
we need.  We will NOT be having our own gym just renting a
few hours a week of a local facility.  Do we need to get a
business license or anything to do with business taxes?

Answer
Hi April,

I don't know if you HAVE to, but it is a good idea. I vaguely remember having to go and apply for a tax id number so that I could open a business checking account. I had to choose between LLC and Non-Profit, but the non-profit required another form of some sort. Your best bet is to consult a business attorney on this. It may not be what you want to do, but in the end, it will be the safest bet!

Happy Cheering,
